Hi, Matt!
When I worked at Tilden Nature Area, Dr. Stebbins was our “naturalist next door” and was always reliable as a defender of the values the naturalist staff was protecting. We saw him walking on trails, and he often shared his sightings of reptiles and amphibians with us. He brought his expertise to bear on our behalf many times.
I wish Dr. Stebbins a very happy birthday!

Hi Bob,
Happy Birthday Bob!
I had the pleasure being under your guidance as a graduate student and MA candidate from 1954 to 1957. I worked on the reproductive cycle of Gerrohontus coeruleus. in Marin County. I then started my career teaching human anatomy and physiology at Sacramento City College which I did for 40 years. I moved to Idaho and live on the Snake River with lots of Thamnophis elegans, an occasional Charinae bottae and Pituophis I’ve not seen a lizard or turtle.
I turned 81 ten days before your birthday. If you receive this note and can answer, i’d love to hear from you,
